Scientific Appraisals
for Greenhouse Insulite Panels

Autumn scene - the panels are so clear they are hardly discernible

After tests were performed at Rother Valley College horticultural site. Professor S Sharples found that the heat saving in the greenhouse fitted with Insulite Panels was 46% more than the standard greenhouse.

"For carefully matched conditions in both greenhouses it was observed that the panelled greenhouse used substantially less electricity than the unpanelled greenhouse to reach and maintain the same desired internal air temperature."

The findings of this study are only strictly applicable to the conditions prevailing at the time of the study (ie, location of test greenhouses, external weather conditions and choice of internal air temperature). However, the magnitude of the saving under fairly typical UK winter conditions suggests that the panelling could play an important role in reducing the energy costs associated with heating greenhouses."

"Ingenious in design and simple to install, these panels form a beneficial heat-saving second skin to the greenhouse. I found that troublesome condensation drips, normally a curse through the winter, formed between glass and plastic on the outside of the structure, well away from the over wintering plants which grew clean and healthy. This flexible, clever systems re-invents the term insulation!"

Chris Day of Amateur Gardening magazine

"After extensive trials I found insulation panels better than other types of greenhouse insulation in protecting plants and saving heating costs. Fitting is very easy - the greenhouse is quickly double glazed and it looks smart. Insulite Panels bring other benefits, they take no valuable greenhouse space and condensation is much reduced."
